Concerned citizens emailed me the following the other day:
I’m curious if you have a position on January 6 and the electric scheme, I can’t find it anywhere on your website. I’m curious on how and why you think that election fairness would need assistance seeing that all election fraud cases as past election were dropped. I don’t think there were any confirmed cases voter fraud and if they were, it was probably like 1 to 5 people. I’m a concerned of voter. I see you place signs everywhere and it worries me that you hold these beliefs. I would love to talk about it. Given the chance. Thank you for your time.

As anyone who reads this blog knows I am not a Trump supporter.
I’m not a Trump hater either.
I’m a Trump does some good stuff sometimes and some bad stuff other times and I’m going to call balls and strikes kind of guy. Not very many of us out there.
The one place where he really lost me though was the election fraud scam he tried to pull off in 2021.
Now look, I was fine with his rhetoric back in 2016 when he called the system rigged and suggested the election back then was fixed– he was basicaly just saying the media and the parties were against him because and were pulling every dirty trick to beat him.
I’m dealing with that right now– people are stealing my signs for instance.
And he wasn’t wrong. I mean every media outlet couldn’t stop complaining about Trump back then. And it really did look like it was Trump against the world.
But 2021 was something entirely different. The dude lost and he lost badly. It wasn’t even close. All the conspiracy theories and whining just amounted to sour grapes and sore losership.
And then the right engaged in that sickening display with the “Let’s go Brandon” nonsense. Just a bunch of children with their feelings hurt. Couldn’t get their guy into office so they attaked the new guy.
To be clear– the new guy also sucked, but I digress.
The point is what Trump did to us on January 6 was deplorable. He let his supporters attack our capital in his own name. He put himself above the people of the United States that day. Period. The end.
Honestly I’m not even mad at the people who attacked the capital– they were doing what they thought their president wanted them to do. They really believed the election had been stolen. And if that was true they were kind of doing the right thing. But it wasn’t. It was a lie.
And lies cannot be tolerated in this nation.
And Trump IS a liar. Although he is ALSO a truth teller.
And what is fascinating is that he us the BIGGEST truth teller AND the BIGGEST liar at the same time.
And that’s why I could never fully support Trump or hate him.
Because he does do some remarkably cool things. If you just stop and listen to the guy– not the media coverage of him, just listen to him, he has moments of true brilliance and a true form of integrity that cannot be denied.
But I can never forgive what he did on January 6. Sitting their watching his supporters attack our capital– build gallows to hang our representative– all based on his lies. And he just let it happen.
No. I can’t forgive that. Or forget that. And I won’t.
But I can still work with him– and I will– because that’s what our nation needs.
Hope that answers your question Jace!
