Look, Americans are big believers in freedom.
We love freedom.
And when we see some things out there that look like people are getting their freedom taken away we want to stand up and do something about it.
I love that.
But we also need to be smart guys.
When federal law enforcement is actively following and enforcing the law we have to give them space to operate.
Getting in their face and calling them names and trying to stop them from doing their job isn’t right.
And really… it isn’t helping.
I understand the people are angry right now.
They’ve been LET DOWN.
But screaming in an ICE agent’s face is NOT helping anyone. If anything it creates anger and resentment in that human being that will come out in other ways later.
Bad ways.
Anger begets anger.
Love begets love.
Let’s remember we all love each other.
And yes, MISTAKES HAVE BEEN MADE. But these guys have a VERY tough job and the more times people get in the way the more mistakes are going to happen. And NOBODY wants that.
Protest safely. Protest SMART. Otherwise REALLY BAD stuff is coming guys. Trust me.
First rule of litigation– you can’t let one mistake lead to more mistakes.
So let’s be smart. Remember we love each other and give ICE some room to work while we try to make a deal to solve all of this once and for all.

I understand what you are saying. But this is also a slap in the face saying its okay for them to unalive people in unimaginable ways…. just wow yes let them do their job but they are killing innocent American’s. This is surprising coming from you. But I respect your opinion because it’s called freedom of speech. The man that was just shot all those times was trying to remove someone away from ICE
People are peacefully protesting. When border patrol agents throw women to the ground I don’t see that as being disrespectful to the agents. I see that is being aggressive towards peaceful protesters. Let’s not make excuses for these people. The border patrol lost control of the situation and murdered someone. You should write about that.
Thanks for the measured, logical, and respectful post on this subject. Eric is not making any indictments regarding protesting or ICE operations. He’s simply emphasizing a couple very important points…honest and truthful points that gets clouded by emotion all too many times; be smart with your protests and give law enforcement room to operate. That’s it. Basic truths, folks.
Getting emotional leads to terrible decisions, even worse policy, and delusional thinking.
Innocents are not being killed. There have been 2 unfortunate deaths in Minneapolis, both of which resulted from protestors interfering with operations, provoking LEOs, and not giving them room to operate. Just as Eric mentioned. It’s very simple. Both would be alive today if they followed Eric’s advice and anyone who does from this point forward will be completely safe from ICE’s “aggressiveness”.
Be smart out there. That’s the ask. Simple.
